Nurture Provision

Our Nurture Plus Provisions embed the key nurture principles and targeted therapeutic support into everyday school life. The provisions offer a safe learning environment to help address identified individualised needs and a personalised curriculum that focuses on emotional literacy, reflective practice and restorative approaches to assist students in overcoming barriers to learning.

Therapeutic interventions and specialist services provided by partner agencies and Newham PRUs staff are included in the provision offer. All students attending our Nurture Plus Provisions have access to core curriculum subjects and are supported in working towards achieving relevant qualifications. The structure of Nurture Plus classes provides a high staff to student ratio to ensure targeted and nurturing support is offered to all pupils. Nurture Plus provisions accept students through an internal referral process

In July 2022 Newham PRUs (Tunmarsh School, New Directions PRU and Phoenix) were awarded with Nurture UK accreditation. This was a result of several years of hard work in developing and embedding Nurture Principles and Practice across the schools, and then a thorough assessment process.
